@nickiochsenbein01 Fleece liners will definitely be the most effective. You
can make your own; just purchase some fleece or micrfofleece from the
fabric store; even cut up some old fleece pants. Most diaper websites will
have an inserts/doublers/liners section – you can usually purchase some
    there!

    violet! you’re turning violet, violet!

@Sbarwick1 You can change cloth just like you change disposables, when they
saturate their diaper and/or every couple hours. Sleeping through the night
is just fine, as long as any wetness isn’t bother them, which it shouldn’t.
Keep in mind you’ll probably need to add more than one insert for an
overnight diaper, I like hemp. You can also add a fleece liner to wick away
moisture from the skin, so they feel extra dry =)

Okay, you did it. I went out and bought my first set of cloth diapering
stuff today. I am really trying to go to more of a slip on because my son
doesn’t like to lay down for most changes so, I just got some prefolds,
cloth training underwear and some waterproof covers. I will see how this
goes first. It was only $28 for all. 10 prefolds, 3 trainers and 3 water
proof trainers. I figure its a good start if I like it.

You know, now that I have started CD I actually feel bad about how long my
son would go in a sposie, he does pee more often than I thought, and
commercials don’t help. I hate the Huggies commercial touting leakage
protection for up to 12hrs! What are parents going to do then? take
advantage and change them less often. I actually have a full stash of 25
flats, pins, and plastic pants that I was able to purchase for about $20,
which is less than a box of sposies! I love CD!

I like CJs BUTTer and GroVia magic stick. But the best we’ve used that
clears up a rash crazy quick is Grandma El’s for sure.

Just found your channel… We are having horrible rashes with our daughter
and cloth diapers. We change her often, and we wash her diapers really
well. We have to put anti-biotics on them… which I HATE doing. The rash
looks like little blisters or pimples and keeps happening. I am so
frustrated. Any ideas? There is no redness around the pimples or blisters,
just random blisters or pimples. We also use desitin with a liner for our
diapers. Anyway thank you for your help!

thankyou! my 1.5yr old has eczima (not sure how to spell it :-O) and we use
egg yolks when he gets a diaper rash! it has worked better for us than the
desatin diaper rash cream and a&d ointment (we use to switch him 2
disposables when he got a rash and i think he was getting chemical burns
from them as well) but the egg yolks clear up the rash within 1 or 2
changes and it doesnt ruin the diapers! so no more disposables yay!

@ObbsAndLala I will try. I have been deep cleaning my house and always look
like poo. Long story short, had the mirena for a year it completely shot my
energy along with a ton of other side effects so I had it pulled and now
I’m making up for a year of half assed cleaning. If I find a break to fix
myself up enough for cam then I will for sure. I should be done prepping
them by tomorrow. It’s not as hard so far as I thought, I just keep trans
back n forth from wash to dry.

@ObbsAndLala So discovery in our first day CDing.. Prefolds almost dont fit
Carter at all! They barely go from front to back. but we made it work
today. Hubby got the first diaper and it was a poo one. I got to walk into
my kitchen for the first time to day to a dirty diaper soaking in hot water
in one of my pans!!! I am glad that he was trying to clean it but the
kitchen and pans are a no no for poo! lol. He took it to the bath after I
asked him too but he also put carter in a disposable.

Great video! I’m on day 7 of CD and a rash appeared last night 🙁 I think
it was from Sunday night he sleptb11-7 in a prefold no leaks but was very
wet! Last night we did desitin and a disposible 🙁 i boke down! but this
morning it was worse with little white bumps sooo I did CA baby rash spray
and diaper free play time and desitin with a liner in the past 4 diaper (2
prefold, 2 AIO) he just got up from his nap and the rash is GONE!! Yippee!
I <3 cloth diapering and you are inspiring to con

oh and on bad diaper rash you use 1% hydrocortizone cream. It is also for
bad eczema. You shouldn’t need to use this unless the skin is at the
peeling stage. With Carter, the epsom/witchhazel and just a cream like
burtsbees gets rid of his rash over night. We’ve never had a rash for more
    than 2 days.

Loved your rant!! One thing I thought of was meds can cause rashes. Many
people are aware of this or the doctor warns them, but thought I’d throw it
in. Also, I have found mineral oil to be very successful, mostly with
babies who have disposable wipes. Using the mineral oil on a soft cloth or
something to wipe their bum while they have a rash feels better for them
    and helps the rash.

I am having this same issue at this moment! Lillie has a giant blister in
her crack and its pussy and bleeding! It just popped up yesterday! We have
a doc appt for tomorrow but I want to know what I can do for it now! Any
    ideas?

  16. SmallTownCrunchyGirl April 26, 2014 at 4:03 pm #

My baby is sensitive to synthetic materials & has food sensitivities that
give her awful rashes! The only things that work for her are wipe solution
made from one packet of neti pot solution per 8oz water & 1/4cup baking
soda added to her baby bathtub. Also, we use raw silk liners for stay dry
    liners.

    Anyone tried apple cider vinegar?

  18. MUSleger April 26, 2014 at 4:47 pm #

I just started cloth diapering two weeks ago. My son has started having
really dry skin rashes and I’m wondering whether he’s reacting to the
cloth. It’s a type of rash, but not one I’m familiar with. Wondering if you
    have a suggestion?

  19. jollyjess6 April 26, 2014 at 5:42 pm #

We have been cding for 3 months now and have been rash free so far.
Actually we haven’t had much experience with rashes, I think since I change
his diaper frequently. But great info for the future!

Love your video’s! I have 4 kids (all potty trained now) but so wish I had
of invested in cloth diapers. My kids also would get diaper rashes when
teething! My one daughter got a really bad one once that was blistered and
bleeding from teething and I ended up having to take her into the doctor,
… it can be heart breaking to see them so sore! I always used Peniten
(spellng?) cream as it was think and would stay on well to protect from
being irritated the next time they had a pee.

@katemanning3 Oh yay!! I’m so excited to hear how it goes for you =) You
should make videos on your CDing experience!

my daughter had a strep rash once. Dr said it’s from bacteria that normally
is in the bumm. Sometimes it spreads. She had to go on penicillin and that
gave her another rash. I would have any diaper rash checked by your pedi. I
set my washer to a larger load that what it really is to make there is
enough water. I have a top loading HE, so the machine wants to use less
water. I have to manually set the load size. baking soda/water paste works
    best for us and rashes.
